It is Virtual Premise’s adaptable architecture that allows customers to take advantage of the true promise of on-demand software and services that grow as their real estate needs grow
With minimum hardware requirements and virtually no client-based maintenance, companies decrease their total costs of ownership, reduce their risks and accelerate their time to benefit. What it means for you is that your Real Estate team is free to concentrate on what they do best, creating value for your enterprise.
Moreover, the benefits of the Virtual Premise Global Real Estate Management System™ architecture extend beyond your real estate organization. Through the extendable platform and integration of web services, all stakeholders that interact with the corporate real estate group can leverage their respective applications in support of the enterprise’s goals, including outside consultants, suppliers and contractors.
To wit, a recent (2006) McKinnsey & Company study cites “While many promising new technologies vie for the attention of IT leaders and CIO's, only a few of these innovations actually end up improving top-line performance or bottom-line productivity. Our recent survey of senior U.S. IT executives and our experience with clients suggest that companies prefer to view …"software as a service" (which allows IT departments to offload the delivery and maintenance of software applications) as priorities that promise to help them become more efficient and agile.” The study went on to say,“ Rather than purchasing and deploying applications inside the enterprise, many companies are buying access to externally hosted applications, so they pay for the software as they use it. The software-as-a-service model can cut the total cost of deploying some classes of enterprise applications by 30 to 40 percent as compared with the total cost of purchasing and maintaining them in house.”
Adopting the CIO’s perspective, Virtual Premise utilizes an N-tiered, fully scalable web architecture that separates physically into different machines; web servers, middle-tier servers, database servers and file servers. Pages and scripts are run from the web servers, COM objects are run from the middle-tier servers, queries are run against the database servers and files are pulled from the file servers.
Because physical security plays a very important role in the protection of user data, Virtual Premise houses all of its production servers at a state-of-the-art Internet co-location facility located in Atlanta, GA, specifically designed to meet all the necessary requirements for a secure physical environment. Control and access to data and the physical infrastructure used to host it are paramount to Virtual Premise. Our clients benefit from the most stringent, industry accepted security guidelines, which gives them confidence in the verity of their transactions and exchange of financial data, which includes passing numerous security audits, including SAS-70 compliance procedures.
